Pre- Professional Styling 1929 Grahan-Paige
It seems that I have a number of images of 1929 model year or thereabouts of Graham-Paige automobiles. As far as I know, the company did not have a styling staff then, and later on used designs by Amos Northup, perhaps supported by engineering staffers and others. Therefore, the cars shown in this post are indicative of the state of design for American upper-middle class cars from smaller manufacturers in those days before professional styling staffs became common. Another brand image characteristic is the bank of hood louvres that take up only about 60 percent of the available space unlike the usual 100 percent (save allowances for flat structure fore and aft of the louvred zone).
