Suspension system

Automobile suspension system

Many type of suspension used in automobile,Light vehicle have a different type of suspension used and heavy vehicle have a different type also

*Light vehicle have a Mac pherson type suspension used because it's have a low weight and 4/5 siter and area based on design.

* Heavy passenger vehicle have a Wishbone type and heavy commercial vehicle  have a leaf spring suspension used

* Anywhere journey comfortable when your suspension is flexible like wishbone type this type suspension rapidly use TOYOTA Vehicle, this reason Toyota vehicle is most people like👍
** Wishbone suspension have a lower arm and upper arm both are installed
                           BUT
**MacPherson suspension have a only lower armfitted
Front suspension system
** Suspension system component "Front"
Shocker , spring, shocker plate, shocker insulator etc.
Rear suspension system
**Suspension system component "Rear"
Shock absorber, shocker spring, shocker sleeve and shocker bush🙂

Function of suspension system

1) To prevent the road shocks from being transmitted to the vehicle frame
2)To preserve the stability of the vehicle in pitching or rolling while in motion
3)To safeguard the occupants from road shocks
4)To provide good road holding while driving, cornering and braking.
5)To maintain proper steering geometry🚙

Stabilizer

A stabilizer or a sway bar is necessary used in all independent front end suspension,it reduce the tendency of the vehicle to roll or tip on either side when taking a turn.this tendency has been increased due to the use of softer spring and independent front end suspension
A stabilizer is a simply a bar of Alloy steel with arms at each end connected to the lower wishbone of the independent suspension or axle it is supported in bush bearing fixed to the frame and is parralal to the cross member
When both the wheels deflect up or down by the same amount the stabilizer bar is simplty turn in the bearings when only the wheels deflect they only one end of the stabilizer moves thus twisting the stabilizer bar which acts as a spring between the two sides of the independent suspension in this way stabilizer reduces heeling or tipping on the vehicle on curves.know more about suspention Full details of suspention
Types of suspension spring

  • Leaf spring
  • Coil spring
  • Torsion spring
  • Air bags
  • Rubber spring

Shock absorbers

If the suspension spring are rigid enough they will not absorb road shock s efficiently and if they are flexible enough they will continue to vibrate for a longer time even after the bumper has passed. The shock absorbers take a part of this load
Types of shock absorber's
1) Mechanical2) Hydroulical    I) vanetype    II) piston type      a) single acting      b) Double acting   III) Telescopic type
Electric shock absorber are used in some vehicle basically for the height adjusting purpose ,it used in Toyota Prado vehicle its just like a awesome features
