Car Emission control system have a few many part are fitted for controlling the emission,example

  • Automobile Emission control system

Catalytic converter

  It is a part of all vehicle for burning exhaust gas out from car ,it is a cylindrical unit about the size of a small silencer and it installed into the exhaust system of a vehicle such as a car, scooter moped,motor cycle or auto rickshaw.it is pleased between the exhaust manifold and the silencer inside the converter there is a 🍯 honeycomb structure of a ceramic or metal which is coated with alumina base material and there after a second coating of precious metal platinum,paradium and rhodium or combination of the same.This second coating serves as a catalyst,a catalyst is a substance which causer a chemical reaction that normally does not happen in the given condition as a result of the catalytic reaction,when the exhaust gases pass over the converter substance toxic gasses dish as CO,HC & NOX are converted into harmless CO2,H2 and N2


THERE ARE TWO TYPE OF CATALYTIC CONVERTER


A 2way converter, which is used to control CO and HC emissions by oxidationA 3way converter,which is used almost in all petrol cars in control co and HC by oxidation as well asNOx by reduction

EGR

1)EGR is promising method of controlling NOx emission,EGR controlled 81-88%of NOx at 30% recycling

2) with 30%recycling there is a fuel penalty of 23.1%to 28%consedering minimum bsfc values for different speed percentage fuel penalty corresponding to minimum bsfc value increased from 3.85% to 28% when the percentage recycling increased from 10% to 30% .

3)with 30% recycling as the speed increased from 9% to 13.5% and from 1.88% to 13.5% in the recycling range of 10% to 30%  even with 20% recycling the loss is maximum power was high as 31.8% with running atb2400 RPM( Revolution per minute)

4)NOx emission is more on higher speed

5) the rate of reduction of NOx  emission is much faster at higher  speed with increase in present recycling🚙


EGR work on some exhaust gas received and mix with normal air which are  in combustion chamber,EGR use for better combustion because. EGR used hot air,it have a electronically controlled valve which are open  and close air tap  for help in better combustion

OXYGEN SENSOR

If any oxygen found on cat exhaust pipes then it's malfunction


AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR

If  air fuel ratio high or low in 1to 3 second then this sensor are sending data to ECM
And ECM malfunction light glowing in car cluster meter

N-Channel MOSFET High-Side Drive: When, Why and How?

I had previously shown how to drive N-channel MOSFETs in low-side configuration. So, here I’ll talk about N-channel MOSFET high-side drive. Let’s first look at the common low side configuration.  Fig. 1 - N-channel MOSFET configured as low-side switch Now let’s look at a MOSFET configured as a high-side switch. Fig. 2 - N-channel MOSFET configured as high-side switch You can quite easily see the difference between the high-side configuration and the low-side configuration. In the low-side configuration, the load is connected between the drain and +V, while the source is connected to ground. Thus, the gate drive is referenced to ground. Using the high-low side driver IR2110 - explanation and plenty of example circuits

In many situations, we need to use MOSFETs configured as high-side switches. Many a times we need to use MOSFETs configured as high-side and low-side switches. Such as in bridge circuits. In half-bridge circuits, we have 1 high-side MOSFET and 1 low-side MOSFET. In full-bridge circuits we have 2 high-side MOSFETs and 2 low-side MOSFETs. In such situations, there is a need to use high-side drive circuitry alongside low-side drive circuitry. The most common way of driving MOSFETs in such cases is to use high-low side MOSFET drivers. Undoubtedly, the most popular such driver chip is the IR2110. And in this article/tutorial, I will talk about the IR2110. You can download the IR2110 datasheet from the IR website.
