Unpack the Colorful GeForce RTX 3080 Advanced 10GB box

This is one of the first Nvidia 30 Series VGAs launched in Vietnam. Colorful GeForce RTX 3080 is yet to have a specific price but promises to be the focus in the coming days.

Colorful has five Nvidia GeForce 3080 VGA models, and Advance is the mid-range version of this lineup. However, the product is still big, strong and integrates many interesting features.

Colorful iGame Advanced is equipped with a pit cooling solution, although it only occupies 2 computer slots, but has 5 heat pipes. Fitted with three 90mm fans, the RTX 3080 Advanced promises to perform relatively cool.

The center heatsink is integrated with RGB LEDs so that users can freely customize them to suit the system. Just above this fan is another illuminated mirror surface, with the iGame logo depicted on both sides, and the Advanced symbol.

Colorful RTX 3080 Advanced's back panel is equipped with a sturdy backplate, which ensures to withstand the product's crutches when mounted on the system, preventing VGA from being bent.

The most interesting is that the VGA box also has a quality screwdriver for users to disassemble and customize the product when needed, along with gloves to avoid damaging the hand skin as well as oxidizing the metal layers of the VGA.

VGA's ports include 3 DisplayPort and 1 HDMI port. The back of the product is also equipped with an automatic overclocking button, like Colorful's previous versions of iGame graphics cards.

It is worth noting that this graphics card is equipped with 3 8-pin power ports. Therefore, users need to ensure using a large capacity source, from 750W or more for the system if they do not want to lose performance during use. It is known that RTX 3080 consumes 320W of electricity.

Other specifications of the VGA are relatively "terrible". Colorful RTX 3080 Advanced uses GA102 GPU, has 8nm core, has 8704 CUDA cores, 10GB GDDR6X RAM, 320 bit, has Nvidia DLSS, Nvidia G-Sync, and Gen 2 Ray Tracing cores.

That is very powerful hardware, can almost "swallow" AAA games at 2K and FullHD resolutions with 120FPS frame rates. For more details, you can follow the Thanh Nien Game's following tests, not only at the RTX 3080 but also on the RTX 3070 and RTX 3090 when available.

Although there is no specific price, but predicts that the Colorful RTX 3080 Advanced will fall into the segment of more than 20 million when released. It's an affordable price tag for a cool, powerful VGA and packed with the latest technologies.

N-Channel MOSFET High-Side Drive: When, Why and How?

I had previously shown how to drive N-channel MOSFETs in low-side configuration. Using the high-low side driver IR2110 - explanation and plenty of example circuits

In many situations, we need to use MOSFETs configured as high-side switches. Many a times we need to use MOSFETs configured as high-side and low-side switches. Such as in bridge circuits. In half-bridge circuits, we have 1 high-side MOSFET and 1 low-side MOSFET. In full-bridge circuits we have 2 high-side MOSFETs and 2 low-side MOSFETs. In such situations, there is a need to use high-side drive circuitry alongside low-side drive circuitry. The most common way of driving MOSFETs in such cases is to use high-low side MOSFET drivers.
