Windows 10X probably won't arrive until 2021

Windows 10X is a special Windows 10 operating system, designed for dual-display devices like the Surface Neo. The Surface Neo is a device that looks like a compact tablet, but when the two 9-inch screens unfold, it turns into a large 13-inch display that can be used either as a laptop or tablet. Windows 10X doesn't look much different from Windows 10, both of which use OneCore technology, but since this version was developed to be compatible with dual-screen and foldable devices, regular Windows 10. Will not be able to upgrade to Windows 10X. With this special operating system, some of the features and operations as well as the interface will be more suitable for use on two-screen devices.

However, according to ZDNet, Microsoft product manager Panos Panay told some of the technical team members that it would not be possible to launch the new platform before the end of the year. In addition, Microsoft has also said that it will not let third-party device manufacturers launch products running this new operating system.

The cause is said by Microsoft is due to the Corona virus pandemic has changed and affected Windows 10X. Microsoft's plan to support traditional win32 apps on Windows 10X has also been affected. Sources tell The Verge site that Microsoft has had performance issues with win32 apps on Windows 10X, in addition to compatibility issues for more complex applications when integrated into the operating system. . It is for these reasons that the release date of Windows 10X was affected.

Microsoft is also developing to bring UI and UX improvements on Windows 10X to Windows 10. Firstly, the Start Menu icon has been upgraded and the Settings icon on Windows has also changed. In the near future, Windows 10 may receive newer upgrades and many features from Windows 10X brought to Windows 10.
